Demand in practice: how buyers, banks and governments scale carbon removal. Carbonaires panel discussion at COP31, Antalya: Friday 13 November, 09:30 to 10:30 (Antalya time), Think Negative CDR Pavilion (D250)

Carbon removal will not scale on ambition alone. Projects need buyers willing to commit long term, capital that can turn those commitments into investment, and policy that recognises removals in national climate plans.

About the Session

Taking the Lower Thames Crossing, Britain’s pathfinder for carbon-neutral construction and the first UK infrastructure project with a legally binding carbon limit, as its starting point, this session follows carbon removal demand from buyer to market to bank. Speakers will discuss where demand is heading over the next decade, whether supply can keep pace, which financing structures can scale, and what governments can do to make this repeatable.
